A Bird of Prey Reborn Pt. 2 - Paul Levitz
acmecomics:
We were super thrilled to have an opportunity to speak with Huntress artist Marcus To, but when we found out that the writer was also making himself available to us, we were frankly shocked. Because the writer of the new DC Relaunch Huntress mini series is none other than the legendary Paul Levitz!
This was truly a rare opportunity to talk to someone with such deep roots in the DC...

DC Women Kicking Ass: Huntress #1 kicks ass →
dcwomenkickingass:
Literally. I think Helena throws a kick at least 5 times. Writer Paul Levitz delivers an agreeable, sturdy first issue. For long time readers he “gets” Helena’s voice and for both new and old readers pens a heroine who is confident, smart, and totally in control. The plot has Helena out of Gotham and back in Italy. There a search for gun turns into a bigger mission -...

So excited about this book, this is making me even...
Erica Simon(L'italiano Anastasia): Helena is a capable physical combatant, but is also an attractive woman even in costume. As an artist how do you balance illustrating her feminine side while still achieving the convincing level of intimidation she has to carry herself with as a vigilante?
Marcus To: I think that’s actually a pretty easy thing to portray, I have a lot of strong women in my life and I try to draw on that. Women I find have an uncanny ability to be both beautiful and dangerous naturally, all I had to keep in mind is that she is a confident woman that believes in what she does and I think that will transfer into making her believably intimidating and feminine. I hope the readers find that I did an ok job on it.

A Bird of Prey Reborn - Marcus To on Huntress #1
acmecomics:
The Huntress, be it Earth 2’s Helena Wayne or modern continuity’s Helena Bertinelli, has been one of the leading female characters of DC Comics since her debut in the late 1970s. And while not as well known as Catwoman, she remains a major wild card in the world of Batman comics and has been a reliable ally of Black Canary and her Birds of Prey. As part of the DC Comics Relaunch...

Oh, man…is it Wednesday yet?!?!!
I know, right!!! And Helena smiles at the mere mention of the potential of leaving corpses behind. I’m going to love this.
