Sal gives Helena the news she’s been searching for, the name of the man responsible for the death of her family. The problem is Sal knew before she ever came to live with his family as he himself took orders from this person. A fact I would have expected Helena to call him on but she didn’t. Maybe he was waiting until she was in a position to do something about it. Maybe he cared enough that he didn’t want to see her live and waste her entire life on search. Maybe both.
