And this day just keeps on getting better & better.
First, the wedding cupcakes for Cat & Amanda arrived (which made them happy, in turn making me happy) & I just now got this…proof, I guess?…from Agnes Garbowska of my Huntress & Question commission!!
And I’ll have the physical copy in my hands next week.
Good day, I’d say!
This may be my favorite from your Huntress collection!
Checkmate is staking out Helena’s apartment having tracked her there. They realize she’s using artificial neighbors when in fact she’s the only tenent in the entire building. After he takes out a few pawns, Vic Sage calls her to tell her she’s being watched and needs to get out of there.
I think this is my favorite Helena and Vic page. Vic’s love and concern for Helena is palpable, but she angered, hurt, and disappointed him and he hasn’t forgiven or forgotten. But there’s still a lot of love and warmth between them.
On a side note: If I’m not mistaken, this is also the last time this apartment building of Helena’s was referenced. I’m assuming it was too dangerous for her to return. In my mind she did something good with it to help others, and I’d love to see whatever it is.
Vic Sage meets with Nightwing, hands over some photos he came in contact with. Nightwing’s not happy and tells Vic that his connection to Helena isn’t a secret. Vic shoots back that his “relationship” is even less a secret. Nightwing says whatever happened between him and Helena has been over for a long time. Vic warns Nightwing that a certain government agency isn’t too fond of capes in Gotham. He’d tell Batman himself but it seems like it’s a family affair. Vic’s more preoccupied with ensuring that Helena is okay.
Vic Sage realizes Helena is missing and goes searching for her. He’s gets a little testy with some streets girls, because he’s deeply concered about his former lover.
